 Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrival & Sunset Warm-Up

Arrive in St. John’s and gather with the group for a casual orientation. As the sun begins to set, we head out for our first shoot—capturing dramatic coastal cliffs, crashing waves, and a charming harbor village glowing in evening light. It’s the perfect warm-up to get your creativity flowing.

Day 2 — Sunrise Seascapes & Evening Cliffside Views

We start the day photographing rugged headlands bathed in soft sunrise color, followed by time exploring the textured coastline and dramatic rock formations. In the evening, we position ourselves along steep cliffs and colorful hillside homes overlooking the Atlantic, where the low sun paints the landscape in rich, warm tones.

Day 3 — Waterfalls, Rock Formations & Twilight Coastlines

Another sunrise shoot takes us to a striking cove where swirling surf meets layered cliffs. After a midday break, we travel to a coastline known for bold geological shapes and powerful wave action. Sunset brings sweeping views—either over a remote wild coastline or near the continent’s eastern edge—giving us multiple creative options depending on the weather.

Day 4 — Journey to the Bonavista Peninsula & Coastal Wonders

We leave St. John’s early and make a sunrise stop at a secluded bay known for sea arches and dramatic cliffs sculpted by the ocean. After traveling north, our sunset shoot focuses on rugged channels, sea stacks, and narrow coves where the Atlantic surges through ancient rock. Expect powerful foregrounds and endless long-exposure opportunities.

Day 5 — Wild Coves & Sculpted Sea Arches

Today’s sunrise unfolds over a quiet inlet surrounded by jagged shorelines and beautifully textured geology. In the evening, we photograph one of Newfoundland’s most iconic natural formations—a towering sea arch carved by centuries of wind and waves—framed by the warm glow of the setting sun.

Day 6 — Cliff-Top Vistas & Lighthouse Sunset

We begin the morning along high cliffs overlooking turquoise waters, an area rich with rugged patterns and dramatic leading lines. After a midday break, we head to Newfoundland’s famed lighthouse landscape for sunset, capturing sweeping ocean views, rugged black rock, and the warm evening glow that makes this peninsula unforgettable.

Day 7 — Sunrise Trail Shoot & Return to St. John’s

Our final sunrise takes place along a world-class coastal trail known for its panoramic headlands, sea stacks, and breathtaking overlooks. Afterward, we enjoy breakfast together before making the scenic drive back to St. John’s, arriving by early afternoon—memory cards full and spirits high.

Artist's Statement: Through all of my wanderings, photography has remained a constant, providing the creative link between my passion for adventure and the outdoors. I will never get enough of that “Wow!” feeling when I see a stunning image rendered on my camera’s LCD and helping guide others to that same experience is the bacon in the beans for me. I am excited to start working with Action Photo Tours. Everything about their instructors, locations, deep research, proficiency and stop-at-nothing vibe shows me that I have found the company where we can all grow and have countless “wow” moments together.

From the inseparable experience of unity, the camera is not something I “look at” the world through it is an opportunity to see something in myself. Photographs are no longer lost extractions of time; they become holographic reflections of the precious whole in every part. I love to guide those passionate about photography and those wanting to celebrate the extraordinary beauty of nature. If you seek a deeper connection with yourself and the astonishing beauty of our planet, I invite you to embark on this journey of creative discovery. I seamlessly weave together the technical and artistic dimensions of photography and help students learn to cultivate a greater level of presence, perception, and perspective. I have endless patience for those who genuinely seek to unlock their unique creative brilliance and transform their passion into pixels.

Photography has been a transformative experience of Self-discovery more than it has been about great image-making. The interior landscapes of my Soul have been the primary territory of my exploration. From a place within, the landscapes and creatures of our great planet have provided amazing opportunities to learn about myself and my connection to the world.
