Paria River Canyon
The Paria River forms a majestic canyon as it winds it’s way towards the Grand Canyon. It is highly photogenic, especially as reflected midday light begins to enter the dark recesses. As a one-day trip, we begin/end at the White House trailhead and hike out to the confluence with Buckskin Gulch. You’ll also get to walk a little ways up Buckskin Gulch which is one of the most impressive slot canyons in this area. This trip is rated as strenuous since it’s a 14-mile round-trip hike. Plan on getting your feet wet since we’ll have to walk through the water quite a bit. This trip is only recommended during the months of April to September. The water can get cold and depp in the off-season. For the ultimate adventure, consider doing a multi-day backpacking trip with us all the way to Lee’s Ferry. Permits must be obtained in advance.
